Love is in the Hair!

“Love is in the Hair” certainly holds true here at Hopestone as we provide one of our favorite and most important services, helping cancer patients find a wig.  One of the most difficult things a woman has to go through when undergoing cancer treatment is the loss of her hair.   At Hopestone, we feel honored to be able to help a cancer patient, find, try on and take home a wig free of charge.  Wigs are donated by generous members of our community and are taken to Gail’s Hairstyling and Spa, where they are cleaned, re-styled and brought back to our Hopestone salon to await their new owner.  Someone once said, “There’s nothing like new hair to make you feel confident and beautiful”.  We love seeing our cancer patients leave Hopestone feeling both confident and beautiful, truly love is in the Hair!

Gas Cards

Easing our cancer warrior’s burdens is something that we take seriously here at Hopestone Cancer Support Center of Bartlesville. Cancer treatment is not only physically and emotionally draining for those experiencing it, but can also be financially draining. One of the ways that we can help ease those financial burdens, is through our Transportation Assistance Program that offers gas cards to help our patients get themselves to and from their treatment. As Yogi Berra said, “Little things make a big difference,” and we have found that those little gas cards can make a significant difference in helping ease our cancer warrior’s way on their journey to remission.

Air Transportation

〰️

Air Transportation 〰️

For many of the cancer patients in our area, the best treatment options are unavailable close to home. Thanks to the generous donations of so many within our community, help with the cost of air travel to and from cancer treatment outside our area is available through the Hopestone Travel Assistance Program. Several airline options are available, depending on the location of the treatment. If you know someone who can use assistance with travel to and from treatment centers within the United States, please contact us at (918)766-4673.

Prescription Assistance

Prescription drug costs are rapidly rising and can take a toll on any family who has a loved one battling cancer. One of the most important services we offer here at Hopestone is our Prescription Assistance Program. Your oncologist will send prescriptions to our partner Ascension Rx - St. John Jane Phillips MedCare Pharmacy for you to pick up and the pharmacy will bill Hopestone directly. This helps provide quality medications for cancer patients in our area.

If you need assistance with medications while undergoing treatment, please contact us at (918)766-4673.

Ambulatory Assistive Devices

While undergoing treatment, cancer patients often need a little assistance to get them where they need to go. Hopestone offers a variety of Ambulatory Assistive Devices, including wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and bedside commodes, which help make life easier and offer our cancer warriors the support they need to keep moving. These items are all free of charge to those currently undergoing treatment. If you know someone who needs a little assistance, or if you have any of these items that you would like to donate, please call us at (918)766-4673.
