Tai Chi Classes

Let your mind and body work as one. A graceful form of exercise that combines a series of moves performed in a slow, focused manner accompanied by deep breathing. Tai Chi increases stamina, energy and improves muscle strength, flexibility and balance. It also has been show to reduce stress and anxiety.

Meet our Instructors

Bee Bradley - Yoga, Dance Fit, Tai Chi

Meet Bee Bradley, who came to us all the way from the Philippines! Bee came to America in 1980 and became a US citizen in the year 2000. She has been married to a veteran of the United States Airforce for 42 years and has two daughters, and a 16-year-old grandson.

Bee has trained in martial arts for 11 years and earned her first black belt in Tang So Do (karate) and then a purple belt in Chayon-Ryu, (a form of karate which teaches natural body motion as the basis of all techniques to promote power, safety, health, and fitness). She has taught land and water aerobics in her lengthy career as a health instructor, but is currently teaching Dance Fit, Yoga and Tai Chi right here at Hopestone.

Bee joined our team of instructors because she wanted to help people stay fit, healthy and to live a full life. She hopes that her exercise instruction will help them put their worries aside, at least for a little while. With 15 years behind her of teaching Yoga, her goal, is to be a positive influence on her students, encouraging them to get into shape and live a healthy lifestyle.


Judy Fu -

Tai Chi, Barre Work

Judy Fu was born in Taiwan and raised in both Taiwan and Singapore. She sang in the World EXPO opening ceremony in Tokyo when she was just twelve years old. Judy danced for Cloud Gate Modern Dance and Ballet of Taipei in Taiwan while still in her teens. Between 1976 and 1979 she studied in the Royal Ballet of London and graduated in 1979 when she was 19 years old. She has a Fine Art bachelor’s degree from Chinese Culture University in Taipei, did graduate studies at UCLA, Arizona State University, and has a Master of Fine Art degree from the University of North Texas in 1991. She also did post graduate school studies at Texas Women University.

 She was involved in film making in Taiwan during 1983-1985 and won several awards. Since 1985, she has appeared in Operas (Magic Flute, La Boheme, The Queen of Spades, Carmen, Aida, and Amelia Goes to the Ball), musicals (Cats, Oklahoma, King and I, West Side Story, and See You in Tokyo), and performed in ballets (Swan Lake, Nutcracker Suite, Sleeping Beauty, and Apollo) in the USA.  

 Besides dancing and the performance art fields, Judy was trained in traditional Chinese Gong Fu by a renowned Gong Fu master for over 10 years during her childhood and teens. Because she was born premature and has always been small, her family thought she needed to learn Tai chi gong fu for her health and protection in life. She had Gong fu boot camp training every summer since she was 6 years old with all boys. The intensive summer camp training lasted until she went to the Royal Ballet of London in England. She resumed her gong fu practicing and earned her black belt in the early 1990s. By 1996 she was teaching Tai chi/Chi gong and ballet at the same time. She is a certified black belt Tai Chi/Chi Gong master. She is also trained and certified in acupuncture therapy at the Chinese Medicine College in Taiwan.

 Judy also trained the Dallas Cowboy football Team to improve their balance in 1989-1990. She has taught piano, ballet, modern movement, and has been choreographer for several musical plays, schools, and ballet companies both in Taiwan and USA since 1985. She taught Tai Chi/Chi Gong at the Ponca City Regional Hospital, the YMCA, and Conoco in Ponca City, as well as ConocoPhillips in Bartlesville since 1992. In 2006 she received the Teacher of the Year Award in Oklahoma and was a judge of Tai Chi Gong Fu for the 2008 Olympic Games.

 Judy heard about Hopestone from Dennis and Judy Logan. Judy then went to meet Dr. Jennifer McKissick. As is Judy’s nature she immediately decided to volunteer and join the Hopestone mission to teach Tai chi movement. Because her family has medical field background, she has a great passion to help patients and senior people. She currently enjoys teaching Barre movement and Tai Chi/Chi Gong classes at Hopestone. She and her husband Bobby are members of the Lutheran Church in Owasso. They raised a nephew and a niece together. She is also an excellent cook and baker.

 Judy’s goal for her students at Hopestone is to help them be healthy and happy. Through her class training, they are improving their health, balance, mobility, and happiness. Judy’s natural charisma makes all her students feel loved, encouraged, motivated, and happy every day. She is a natural born loving and caring teacher!



Amanda Gutierrez - Pilates Instructor

Meet Amanda Gutierrez, Hopestone’s very own Pilates instructor who was raised right here in Bartlesville, Oklahoma! Amanda attended Bartlesville Public Schools, and then received her bachelor’s degree at Roger’s State University and her master’s degree from Oklahoma State University. Amanda currently works at Primary Care Associates, PC as a mental health therapist and has been practicing for 11 years. She also teaches psychology classes at RSU in Bartlesville. Amanda is married and has been with her husband for 19 years. She and her husband have 3 children ages 20,17, and 9 years old.

Amanda has been an exercise instructor for 18 years, teaching both aerobics, and water aerobics at the YMCA. She came to Hopestone because she believes in our mission to empower cancer patients and help them focus on their treatment by providing them with the all the support, they need to make that happen. Amanda lost her grandmother, who meant the world to her, to lung cancer when she was 26 years old. Because of this, she really enjoys helping cancer patients get stronger, as well as anyone else who is looking to strengthen their core and overall body. She believes strengthening your core helps to realign your body and posture, which reduces injury and increases flexibility. Many of those who participate in her class can enjoy the things they used to do, like take long car rides, after gaining muscle strength and flexibility.
